Courtney R. Sizelove
Aug. 14, 1990 - Aug. 7, 2008

SUMMITVILLE — Courtney R. Sizelove, 17, died unexpectedly Aug. 7, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 14, 1990, in Anderson, the daughter of Randy Sizelove and Renee (Cowart) Sizelove, and had resided in the Summitville area all of her lifetime.

Courtney was starting her senior year at Madison-Grant High School as a member of the Class of 2009. A lover of animals, she was excited to start work soon for Dr. Ted Montgomery, veterinarian. Her future plans were to attend Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion and to continue serving her Lord in whatever capacity He made evident to her.Courtney’s interests were many: tennis, show choir, singing, dancing, photography, watching movies, youth group with Bob and Misty Beall, animals and 4-H, restoring furniture and decorating. She was a member of the Summitville Fire Department. Her greatest passion in this life was serving the Lord and following His Word. Courtney was most comfortable, relaxed and happy when at home by surrounded family and good friends.

Courtney’s favorite Bible verse was Ephesians 5:18, and she embraced all of God’s Word ... living and studying it at all times. She used her love of God’s Word to fulfill His purposes when she would counsel with friends during troubling times with a kind word, scripture verse or text. It would be most important to Courtney that those who still have a journey to fulfill continue in their faith and love of Jesus Christ ... so that some day she may embrace them as they enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Courtney’s warm and beautiful spirit will be sadly missed but warmly remembered.

Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Survivors include her parents, Renee and Randy Sizelove of Summitville; big brother, Corey Sizelove of Summitville; her friend, companion, one and only love, Zach Castillo of Summitville; paternal grandmother, Betty Sizelove of Alexandria; maternal grandparents, Wallace and Beverly Cowart of Alexandria; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Jane Pyle of Alexandria; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; and all of her fellow firefighters in the Summitville Fire Department family.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Rosalee Smith; maternal grandmother, Linda Sue Cowart; and paternal grandfather, Richard Sizelove.
